Yeah, I know this is not political in the true sense but if I cannot watch political shows because my cable is effed up then it is...
I have the weirdest thing going on: I have my telephone, I have my Internet, but the TV's are doing something strange. I can get the menu and the program information at the bottom of each screen but all my channels are "Unavailable" EXCEPT, interestingly, the few public access channels (worthless). The process started with some pixellating which progressed to some channels being out and now essentially all are gone. I have rebooted everything in the house including the toaster oven, checked every single connection by separating and then reconnecting the lines and the splitters, made sure everything was tight. No one at Verizon has been able to help me by phone and it is difficult at this exact time to be home for a technician. I was hoping someone here might have an idea or two. As I said, I reset/rebooted everything...TIA!

(25,541 posts)as I said, I've done EVERYTHING within the forums which I have encountered...but it never hurts to hear because obviously, I'm missing something!

(12,157 posts)If they are the trouble may be at the local FIOS terminal which is somewhere in your neighborhood. If not the trouble may be in your ONT (Optical Network Terminal). This box is basically a receiver that breaks out the various optical signals, TV, phone and internet, to an electrical signal on copper wires. Each one of these signals is riding on different light wave lengths, so that one or more may work while others do not.
The following is from someone who lost dial tone but still had internet and TV.

A disclaimer: While I am recently retired from Verizon, FIOS was never deployed in our towns, so I am not fully qualified to answer your question. That said, I think it probably is the ONT box which will require a service call.
Edit to add, do what boston bean says first.
