I do know, Ms. KMOD, that you tend to start threads based on a lot of stuff I haven't even read, lol.

I sometimes only read a few thread in GD or, as tonight, get stuck reading one long hilarious thread. This evening that would be the one about Dr. Oz and GMOs that has over 500 recs. It's mesmerizing & hilarious.

Rand Paul is on the record as being in favor of removing the civil rights act and the voting rights act. If anything, I think those acts should be strengthened and more fully enforced.

Sure, there are different kinds of libertarians. And yes, as far as their own civil rights are concerned they are probably all for it. But please read up a bit on where most of them today stand on many issues that are core principles of liberals and core principals of the democratic party.

and he kept going on about the fed. Whenever I tried changing the subject he kept going on and on about the fed. He'd been laid off from some investment bank. Drove a Porsche, smoked lots of weed, married a rich neurotic. Thought he was way smarter than he was. Shockingly ignorant of the most basic civics and history knowledge. I thought he was a smug insufferable ignoramus who acted like he'd just joined a cult.

Democrats and progressives in general, since his agenda is toxic for ordinary people and is the antithesis to what we want. They ultimately want to do away with government, while the Left sees it as a useful thing in most cases. The Internet is pretty much their only outlet. In real life, the Paul clan isn't taken very seriously (especially with Rand's pet weasel on his head), and Rand's father struggled to stay polling in the double digits even within his own party in 2012.

A few things Paul has said sound like what we want, so much so that maybe they forget that he's a lying, weaselly airhead. Yeah, I can believe that some well-intentioned people are willing to promote him a little.

I'm sure there are trolls exploiting that perceived vulnerability of DU's.
