Google gets Nevada driving licence for self-drive car
Driverless cars will soon be a reality on the roads of Nevada after the state approved America's first self-driven vehicle licence.
The first to hit the highway will be a Toyota Prius modified by search firm Google, which is leading the way in driverless car technology.
Its first drive included a spin down Las Vegas's famous strip.
Other car companies are also seeking self-driven car licences in Nevada.

(38,187 posts)for years now. I get sick of having to hold the gas pedal down, hit the brakes, steer, and all that other crap. I'd rather get a last few minutes of sleep on the way to wherever I am going. Let the damn car drive itself and take me where I want to go. Fuck being alert and having to stay awake to drive the stupid car that early in the morning.
Better yet, I wish I was rich enough to be able to afford a driver/go get stuff person. I hate going to the grocery store too. I wonder if these new cars could be trained to go get the grocery store stuff and bring it back home too.

(8,434 posts)I know around here you can call in your order to some grocery stores for a 10% fee, an outrageous price, but a service that is available. It stands to reason that some companies will embrace this technology and give us exactly what you dream of, a car that goes and picks up the groceries you just ordered online without you being there.
