Marijuana supply piles up in California as growers take a hit

The pot market is crashing in California's legendary Emerald Triangle.
The closure of hundreds of marijuana dispensaries across California and a federal crackdown on licensing programs for medical pot cultivation are leaving growers in the North Coast redwoods with harvested stashes many can't sell.
Purportedly legal medical cultivators are fleeing to the black market. So much cheap weed is getting dumped in the college town of Arcata, some local dispensaries say business is down 75 percent.
Even the region's itinerant and colorful bud trimmers are going broke.

(27,670 posts)and monopolize the industry. Then legalize it at the Federal level, in order to make enormous profits by further ripping off the sick people that they have already driven into abject poverty.
Big Pharma- Bankster 1% politics. This is a prime example of 1% control of our government.
Just a continuation of the war on the sick and the dying.
I cannot for the life of me understand why this never occurred to me before.
This was right in front of my nose, and I didn't see it.
Must be gettin' old. You know, you kids need to get off my lawn and a get a job removing the 1% from power.

(58,355 posts)The local governments with federal participation are driving out the competition so as to allow the players they want to monopolize this new industry.
It's the only thing that makes sense to me as well about this, I asked this question several times on another thread but never received an answer, of those dispensaries driven out of business how many were actually charged with a crime?
I imagine there is a lot of money changing hands for these favors.
