Morgan Freeman: Unrest in Baltimore exposed ‘the terrorism we suffer from the police’

Morgan Freeman supports the Baltimore protests sparked by the death of Freddie Gray and says technology is bringing to light “how dangerous police are.”

The Academy Award-winning actor spoke out on the subject in a Thursday morning interview with Newsweek.

“I was watching the news last night,” he said, “and [a protester] said, ‘You know, when we were out here marching peacefully, nobody was here. And now we start burning the place down, everybody is listening. What do you think we’re gonna do to be heard?’

“It’s like, hey, she’s got a point there,” Freeman said. Asked if he is supportive of the protestors, he replied, “Absolutely.”

whom I like - In the movie business he deals with security cops all the time and has good relationships with them I bet - but in this case, he's taking the right stand.

It was as if God were talking directly to me about his creation.

But then they put it on a pay channel and I no longer can watch it.

Nice to know he is as sane as he comes across.

The riots in Ferguson and Baltimore have done more to cast attention on police terrorism than all of the peaceful protests, community organizing, and voting Democratic combined. It would be nice if it didn't have to get to this point, but you can't expect people to live under the barrel of a gun (or a taser) forever and not have them hit back.

If protesters are peaceful, then the corporate media calls them naive and childish. If they engage in civil disobedience, then they are selfish. And if they are violent, then they are thugs. You can't win with them. I do feel sorry for all the innocent people who had their businesses destroyed, but I'm also glad that people are saying, "NO MORE! Keep killing us and we're going to burn the place down."

Like I said, it would be nice if it wasn't necessary, but please explain to me what else has worked. Every week there's a new video of cops murdering a black man, and it hasn't stopped at all. Now Ferguson and Baltimore are burning, and suddenly cops are showing up with body cams and police misconduct is the number one topic.

He's right. Peaceful protests get no attention from the M$M.
