But, in politics, it is better to be the "underdog" than to be the favorite.
If we remember, Jimmy Carter was an underdog. Bill Clinton was an underdog. Barack Obama was an underdog.
Americans love the "underdog". It is our nature.
In my opinion, it would not be wise to write off Bernie Sanders, as some may want to do, simply because he may be the big "underdog" at the moment.
It is in Bernie's favor that he is considered an "underdog". The media tends to ignore the underdog as much as possible. They save their criticism for the favorites.

My SO doesn't like when I use reverse psychology to keep my stress levels down ("they suck and their going to lose" when my team loses a big lead), but all is forgotten when they come back and win.
