(5,018 posts)are saying
Far more likely true than if it were white cops shooting black person
However
REMOVE all guns from society as the 2nd demands, including cops
problem solved

(54,770 posts)Several witnesses, etc. I really think this one happened as pretty much as the early reports say, although if she had a gun and got loose from the handcuffs, that's some poor police work. But, it needs to be thoroughly investigated. We'll see.

While the blue line is a huge problem, I see it as black cops far less likely to shoot anybody, but very likely to honor the blue line and lie for the white cops that do.

(37,573 posts)that some kid was handcuffed behind his back and managed to slip his arms around to the front. That might depend on how loose the cuffs are too.
What is the real story then, that two black police officers shot a black woman because they are racists? Or she was mouthing off to them and they decided to shoot her after they realized that beating her up would leave too much evidence, and then they shot up the patrol car with a drop gun?
Both of those stories seem rather far fetched too.

(37,573 posts)it's always the cops fault. An arrested person who starts shooting is a blameless victim?

(115,677 posts)police car has no gun is proper police protocol and if they fail to do that, it is their fault.
And if a cop lies, that is also their fault.

(37,573 posts)the a$$hole who hid a gun on their person and then started shooting?
Don't THEY have any fault?
It's so much fun to play "if the police had done this, or if the police had done that" except the entire incident hinges on a woman who a) hid a gun and b) started shooting.
I am not all that upset about her death if that's what happened. She would still be alive if not for HER actions and choices.

(115,677 posts)making sure they had no gun made a serous error and needed to be held liable for that also.

After police searched and found drugs on White, the young man was handcuffed with his arms behind his back and placed in the back of a police car. According to the Iberia Parish coroner, White then shot himself in the chest, committing suicide. However, White's family is adamant that he could not and would not have killed himself.

Officials say Chavis Carter, 21, was picked up by authorities on July 29 during a traffic stop in Jonesboro, Ark., while riding in a pickup truck with friends. The other two men were let go, but Carter was held on a felony warrant from Mississippi once police discovered he had given them a fake name. A police report says he was placed in the back of the patrol car with handcuffs on and his hands behind his back; later, officers returned to the car to find that hed been shot in the head. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
