Panic? Yes.
Especially the Talibornagains, these so-called "Christians" who are convinced God is going to act like an abusive dad and "punish" the US for having the NERVE to let gays and lesbians marry.
Just story after story, describing spokepeople from conservative and religious right groups screaming doom and gloom.

The same thing happened when suddenly the hate groups couldn't treat "coloreds" like shit.
"We iz all go-ner DIE!!!"
The funniest part about most of these groups and spokespeople?
Many of them are on wife #2, #3, even #4 or more.

(4,178 posts)Some of the Righties I communicate with have gone into hiding. For weeks they have screamed "traditional marriage" . It is not just a contract. Most of them have divorce decrees and repeat marriages.

Alan Keyes: Gay Marriage Ruling A 'Just Cause For War'
Submitted by Brian Tashman on Friday, 5/1/2015 11:40 am
Joining other Religious Right activists who warn that the Supreme Court will spark a civil war if the it strikes down bans on same-sex marriage, Alan Keyes writes in WorldNetDaily today that a ruling in favor of gay rights will be just cause for war. Keyes claims that such a decision will be an attack on the very foundation of constitutional government, of by and for the people of the United States that, like the Dred Scott decision that heralded the onset of the first Civil War, will bring the nation to the brink and represent a high crime and misdemeanor that effectively dissolves the just bonds of government between and among the states, and among the individuals who compose the people of the United States.

(14,337 posts)including in states where bans were enacted. Florida passed that state ban in 2008 by 60%. Recent polls today in Florida show 57% now support gay marriage. Almost complete turnaround in only 7 years. So do what? Keep something on books that the majority don't support? Pass another state amendment? That ban in 2008 was funded by RELIGIOUS groups. I saw them with signs outside of the polls.
I also happen to think that a major factor with this change of attitude is the Millennial generation reaching adulthood. These religious wing nuts are out of control AND losing control.

(53,921 posts)The thing is not to underestimate them or the power of hate. Sure, it is fun to laugh at some of the more extreme ones, but if anyone thinks if the SC rules in favor of equality that it is "all over"; they will be in for a rude awakening.
