The sewer called Fox “news”

Last edited Fri May 1, 2015, 06:58 PM - Edit history (1)

No one can watch what’s going on 24/7. The injustice and the anger will overload your brain and tear you apart.

However, I tune in from time to time to see what’s happening in the Baltimore shtetl, the country, and the rest of the world.

And occasionally, I tune into Fox “news”, (yes, it’s painful), to see what flavor of shit of the day they’re peddling. In past days, it’s been that Obama is blaming the cops for some “crazy black kid” who threw himself around in the back of a police van. Today, it’s an overzealous prosecutor who is after six “good cops” and tarnishing the police with “unproven” stuff.

There is no end to the shit they will fling at your screen to make you believe that reality is not reality. There is no lie they won’t make up. There is no sense of decency, ever, that anyone displays on Fox “news.”

And this is the tragedy. Perhaps as much as half the people in this country watch the sewer called Fox “news” and believe they’re watching News. The rest of us know that they’re watching propaganda. It’s propaganda that’s preventing their ability to think, or reason. It’s propaganda that’s rotting their minds. And it's propaganda that's well along the path to destroying our country.

but stopping the diseased ideas and thinking they spread is virtually impossible.

"Freedom of the press" gives them the right to do what they do.

But at what point are they "crying fire in a crowded theater"?

That's a hard call to make. And it's one that lets them go on spewing out their venom to poison the minds of those who just don't "get it," and never will.

I have a network.
I have a nightly news program.
either that news program is revenue-neutral,
or I HAVE to call it entertainment, and do so at the beginning AND END of every commercial break.
'Faux Newz' would be gone in a month, as would limbaugh, beck, morning joe, etc. Hays, Maddow, PBS and whatever Olbermann would want to do would be all that would be left of the nonnetwork Newsdesks.

Make public affairs news publishing and broadcasting tax free like churches with only two caveats. You can't have other business outside of news publishing. You must give 10% of print space/broadcast time to rebuttal of news and commentaries to the public and public affairs organizations.

The idea is simple and revenue neutral. Would be a boon to enterprising journalists. Corporate "news" organizations wouldn't qualify. Any loud mouthed talk show host like Limbaugh or slimy website like Breitbart wanted tax exempt status would have to broadcast and publish rebuttals from Media Matters and ACLU.

Ruppert Murdoch,Roger Alie's. Alie's was the GOP president at one time, and Lee Attwater trained him well. All these slugs are doing is following the Propaganda Book of the Nazi's in the 1930's. Propaganda works,Stalin and Hitler as well as our own Government proved the theory.

The sewers are most of cable, satellite, broadcast television, radio, and other U.S.A. "mass media" news outlets.

I don't subscribe to any of them anymore.

Even our local broadcast news, in a community that is majority non-white, follows the "scary non-white person of the day" format, when much scarier bad white people deserve a much higher ranking in the bad news queue.

Doesn't Washington Post owe a huge apology for presenting one piece of hearsay as judgment on exactly what happened in an enclosed steel cage, and for that wrongly swift judgment to be so wrong?

The real scary part lately is that it is Fox viewers in Iowa and NH and a couple of billionaires that will decide one of two choices for President, and that is just part of how scary Fox is.

two of watching Fox is enough to get me into a screaming, irrational shit-fit.

But it's me that's allowing that to happen. Just because some diseased cable channel is spewing toxic waste, doesn't mean I have to ingest it.

Nonetheless, the anger generated by tuning into their venomous poison is virtually unavoidable. I'd suggest that no one ever tune them in. -- Ever. For their own health.

Fox "news" is an infectious disease spread by rumor and innuendo. And it doesn't need people who watch it directly to spread venom/hatred/propaganda/lies.
