Who supports Bernie Sanders? Nobody but the people.

In the late 50s my mother was instrumental in John Patterson's successful campaign for governor of Alabama.

In those days the winner of the Democratic primary was automatically the winner of the general election.

Patterson's closest challenger in the primary was Judge George Corley Wallace.
"The fightin' little judge"

Both were what we now would perceive as racist, but that's just how things were back then in the south.

In retrospect, Patterson was the more moderate (relatively) of the two.

Mom would talk to friends and business associates and all she heard was "Well, I LIKE Patterson, but nobody's gonna vote for him."

And that's when she came up with his campaign slogan.
"Nobody but the people"
Who's gonna vote for Patterson?
"Nobody but the people"

It really went over big.
Sanders should adopt it.
She would be proud.

We all know that people are the least important element of American democracy.

- or is it?

but I certainly do hope that is true.

I have;

1. 1 firm vote for Bernie.

2. 1 person is registering to vote for Bernie.

3. I have 2 people who love Bernie. Both have only

voted a few times. Their registrations are out of date.

It is my niece and her husband. We are tight. I am

researching where to get the registration forms and

where they go to vote.

It is exciting.

I would have another firm vote for Bernie, but my

great nephew is only 16.

My mother will be 91 in August.

I think she will vote for Bernie.

I try to keep them all informed and up date on important

issues. It is a tough job sometimes.

My niece Pam is carrying on the tradition.

She has a Democracy Now app on her phone.

We watch documentaries when she visits and cult classics like Reefer Madness and 1984.
