I though of the young black men all over this country and thought "finally, someone in power who get what they are going through"

young. It is our time. It was an incredible shift into a new generation of leaders. And I, as a post-war Boomer, white woman, gladly welcome her and stand behind her. Indeed, it is their time.

3. I think she has turned one or more of the indicted cops.

Those charges were so darned specific. And they came pretty damned quickly. One suspects a witness has come forward. Possibly one of the indicted?

Just speculating. But after other instances of recent police violence, this was damned quick, and seemingly definitive.

Mosby's presser was astounding in its certitude and its passion.

9. That could be...but she's had her own investigation with the County Sheriff all along.

There has been no comment I've heard that the County Sheriff's office assisted in that investigation. That's a huge law enforcement fissure, or so it seems.

8. Elections have consequences, especially local ones

One of the consequences of the election of Ms. Mosby seems to be the erosion of police impunity in Baltimore city.

We need more such local elected officials.

16. Tip O'Neill said it early and often "All Politics is Local."

He also used to say that "people like to be asked" for their vote.

He knew how to win elections at the local level. If you don't relate to the people in your constituency, you run the risk of alienating them. Then, when you need them, they don't turn up. I think Ms. Mosby has a national leadership role in her future.
