I was super-surprised when SNL did their opening on the peopleless Oriole game in Baltimore, and even more shocked when they did an "Ultron" segment in which a white cop was all over the place beating up and killing blacks.
The cop's Chief said that he was sorry to have to let him go, but he had to because people caught his actions on cameras..but then they shook hands agreeing that they "had a good run while it lasted." Next scene showed some guy firing the Chief too..
SNL did more for Baltimore then anyone could have imagined. What guts they have...!!

(10,044 posts)But I was trying to think of someone who did satire years ago. Not Mort Sahl, some other guy who was popular but died rather young.
It'll come to me one these days. He was really brave, is all I can remember.

(10,044 posts)tho I don't remember him as a guest.
I see him in a seated group on a stage, just regular chairs, in a semi-circle...and he said the most outrageous things, political mostly.
I think it's gone forever.
