(15,882 posts)Although #5 Peregrine may have the right idea for that particular area. Visited Asheville and near there once, good place. Maybe we could turn it into a National Park, a place for people to meet and discuss Democracy.

Bayer
the company that makes oxycontin (I forget the name)
Cisco
Others that I don't remember. And I don't know if any of the ones I've mentioned have been acquired by larger corporations or not.

(5,756 posts)You can't blame companies that happen to be located in NC for the stupidity of the majority when it comes to the rights of a minority. No boycott against these companies is appropriate or required.
I think those corporations will have more trouble recruiting people to work for them in NC now. The amendment didn't just ban same-sex marriage it basically wiped out any rights for heterosexual couples who cohabitate and are not married too.
At some point I hope the people of NC wake up and realize what they just did.

(15,882 posts)wait, I didn't say that The banks mentioned are on my personal domestic terrorist watch list anyway.
The business community is comprised of those very citizens. Far more of them exist in the smaller businesses, and are more likely to have voted. So IF a strategy happened to lead to tactics that needed to affect that group, then they might very well be important.
But that ain't my job. I'm just elucidating myself.
