People kill people over stupid shit every god-damned day

Man Fatally Stabs Brother Over Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight

The victim's cousin told police that he was stabbed by his brother during an argument about the much-anticipated boxing match that took place Saturday night.

Not a single DU thread here supporting the right to the dead guy's opinion about that boxing match.

A verbal altercation between two groups at a Tyler Walmart Thursday night ended with one man dead and another shot after they followed the other party to their home.

Well, golly, has anyone gone and found out what they were arguing about, who was right, and boldly stood up for the right of whomever was shot to say whatever it was he said?

Man shot in shoulder Wednesday after argument at Jacksonville food store

Well, my goodness, I have no idea what to make of that with no idea what they were arguing about.

"Someone stupid shot someone over some stupid shit someone said" is hardly an unusual news item. Whatever the "stupid shit" may have been is irrelevant to whatever it was that inspired the stupid person to do the shooting.

Over a boxing fight that was somehow less violent than the argument over it.

But anyways, yes. Americans shoot each other for any God damned reason they can find, or no reason at all. It's really an eye-opener to live somewhere else.

When a party actually tries to address the mass availability of cheap handguns, they might make traction...

But, really, if we are going to have a DU thread over "I support the right to say some stupid shit" every time someone tries or succeeds in killing someone over some stupid shit, then this is going to be one hopping place here.

Yes, everyone has the right to say stupid shit, and killing people who say stupid shit is wrong.

Yes, I totally agree. Americans kill each other over absurd shit every day of the week. But people are more worried about plane crashes.

Honestly, they should be worried about the drunk dude in the lane next to them. But no. It's terrorism, or plane crashes. Probably the two things we're safest from...

in the town next to mine. They were arguing over the last porkchop, one shot the other, and the survivor ate the chop. Cop later asked him if it was good. He said, "it was delicious."

I don't get what the excitement is about one way or the other. People do this kind of shit dozens of times a day.
