All three names were on my guess list.

Looks like the vintage name Charlotte will probably have a renaissance. I had an Aunt Charlotte. She was a very old lady when I remember going to visit her and her husband (Uncle Oscar) - and I think I was five or six or something. It was hard, though, to find a peer at my age who had Charlotte as her name. That name will probably fully come back in vogue again now. Names fade in and fade out in popularity. Like for example, when I was a kid, I remember lots of Margies among my mother's friends. Lots of women had the name Margie, or Marge - for Margaret. Now you can't find ONE. Outside of Marge Simpson, that is.

they loved playing together from ages 1-3....she even kept a picture of him next to her bed at home.
It was very sweet to watch them together.

My Mom was always called Molly. She was named Marjorie Laura, Laura being her grandmother on the female side.
Her sister Margaret was always called Peggy.

Gram had 8 kids, all given Irish names.

In 2010, for example, it was at number 12, and it's mostly been in the top 20 for the past decade at least.

So naming baby after Mom and GrandMom ( Diana) is sweet, and one could also say Elizabeth for the Queen, I guess.

Thank god the children don't have half a dozen first names as did earlier royal kids.

royal offspring. Seems up til this new generation it's usually been four. I remember "Charles Phillip Arthur George" when Charles and Diana got married. I remember Diana messed it up at their wedding - making her marriage vows to "Phillip Charles Arthur George."

Elizabeth II's grandfather, George the Fifth, was George Frederick Ernest Albert (3 June 1865 – 20 January 1936).
Her dad, George the Sixth, was Albert Frederick Arthur George (14 December 1895 – 6 February 1952).
His rather notorious brother Edward the Eighth, who was king for less than a year before abdicating to marry his divorced American girlfriend Wallis Simpson, had quite a boatload of names (well, those given names, not what some of his subjects probably snarled at him under their breath)! Seven! (Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David (23 June 1894 – 28 May 1972).
Elizabeth the Second, the current queen, however, has three names: Elizabeth Alexandra Mary (born 21 April 1926).
As for Queen Elizabeth's kids -
Charles has four names. Charles Philip Arthur George (born 14 November 1948).
His sister Anne has four names - Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise (born 15 August 1950).
Prince Andrew has four names - Andrew Albert Christian Edward (born 19 February 1960).
Prince Edward has four names - Edward Antony Richard Louis (born 10 March 1964).
And as for Charles' two boys -
Prince William has four names - William Arthur Philip Louis (born 21 June 1982).
Prince Harry has four names also - Henry Charles Albert David (born 15 September 1984).
But both of William's kids have three names -
Little Prince George is George Alexander Louis (born 22 July 2013).
And now, baby Princess Charlotte is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana (born 2 May 2015).

I don't know whether there's an homage being paid to Queen Elizabeth with her three names or whether it's just Mom and Dad's choice. But all the royals' multiple names appear to invoke earlier royal relatives. Royal convention, I suppose. You probably won't see a Princess Tiffany or Jessica or Jennifer or even Apple, nor are you likely to see a Prince Axl or Justin or Ace or Moses. LOL

He well and truly pissed of the British public.

I am pleased for him in that he and Camilla are happy together, it was a shame that he had to play out a marriage to do his "duty",
too many people got hurt because of that.

or some other quick end will befall him shortly after. He isn't young, and it's all he ever wanted, and he's never seemed to have gotten what he wanted. You know?

I'm a novelist and think like this. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking with it.

That WAS an unfortunate recording, wasn't it?
The whole messy split up got pretty sordid, which encouraged the mob of paparazzi.

I just learned that William and Catherine have been quite strict with paparazzi, even to the extent of promptly suing them...and winning in court,
for unwanted pictures. Partly out of memory of Diana.

When they married, a new law was passed that the throne could be passed down to both male and female children if necessary, instead of only to males.
So if the first had been a daughter, she would have been a future Queen.
