The Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy agrees Brownback and Ks repukes are idiots

TOPEKA, Kan. — A Washington think tank says a tax-cutting package in the Kansas Legislature would shift part of the tax burden to the state's poorest residents.

The Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy is a research group that advocates for progressive tax codes. The group issued its analysis Tuesday, one day before the House and Senate expect to vote on the plan.

The plan would reduce individual income tax rates, phase out income taxes for 191,000 businesses and lower the sales tax to 5.7 percent from the current 6.3 percent in July 2013.

The institute says on average, the changes would raise taxes slightly for Kansans earning less than $20,000 while producing the largest cuts for those earning $400,000 or more.

It just never ends here and I thought we were near enough the bottom already that we could survive this administration. Nope, I forgot how willing they were to dig us a new, deeper hole.
