Diaz-Balart cracks me up (not in a good way)

I LOVE most of the MSNBC hosts, but I cannot understand Jose Diaz Balart. I have just put my finger on what bothers me most about him. He's in such a hurry to appear indignant, shocked or outraged, that he doesn't first ensure that he understands exactly what is being said by his interview subject.

This morning is classic. He is interviewing an aviation person about the news that the Germansings copilot had fiddled with the altitude settings on the previous flight that morning. The copilot appears to have practiced selecting different altitudes settings on the previous flight - going from 40,000 feet to 10,000 feet, back up, down, up in a span of four minutes while the pilot was out of the cockpit. The expert said no one noticed this, because the change in motion in response to the settings would be very gradual.

Diaz-Balart is SHOCKED. "you mean no one NOTICED the plane going from 40 to 10 back up and back down in such a short period of time?" Well no, because this was simply a selection by the pilot in the cockpit, the plane would've moved only gradually." DB: "Shouldn't there be some kind of warning?!!" A warning? DB: "a warning that someone was fiddling with the settings in the cockpit?"

Here's a warning to morning hosts: Engage brain before opening mouth.
