In fact, he explicitly stated the opposite at times. Now of course his original tax cut program was a big giveaway to the rich, but he still spoke against cases where the rich were paying nothing at all, and raised taxes many times... completely different from the Republicans of today-- in fact, a pretty similar to Obama on taxing the wealthy.
I'm no Reagan fan whatsoever, but if he were here saying some of the things about taxes which he did back then, he'd be run out of the Republican Party.
