In the face of the resurgence of the recent Republican battle on womens private health decisions, Amy Schumer just may have the answer to obtaining Republican Approved birth control. Merely ask every man you see if its alright with him! Clever girl. We all know if the shoe were on the other foot, these religious Republican men would surely want a womans opinion, right?
The Republican war on womens health care has been ramped up recently. The video comes in response to recent Republican campaigns to limit a womans ability to make her own reproductive healthcare decisions, such as the Hobby Lobby decision in the Supreme Court and a Texas judges ruling to overturn the mandatory contraception coverage in employer-provided health insurance, which is part of the ACA (now federal law, fyi)
Just last week, the House voted on H.J. Res. 43 , which Nancy Pelosi calls Hobby Lobby on steroids. This bill would overturn a law in Washington D.C. which mandates that an employer cannot fire a female employee for decisions she makes about her reproductive health. A Republican-controlled House proposed voting on a resolution of disapproval. So employers, feel free to kick to the curb any woman who treats her PCOS or endometriosis with synthetic hormones. Over 50 percent of women who use birth control do so not for that express purpose, but as treatment for medical conditions. But you cant trust women and their diseases. Theyre probably just using those as an excuse to whore around.
In Schumers video (below) she explains the best way to determine if birth control is right for you. She suggests that women ask every man or boy they can find everyone from your boss, his priest, to your postman if they think birth control is right for you. She also suggests that you ask yourself why you insist on having sex for fun. Hang on until the end. She takes a quick jab at another controversial, penis-related issue. She gets her message across in a funny, biting and truthful way.

(18,186 posts)I was visiting my daughter's facebook page and saw pictures of her looking shocked and horrified at a bunch of angry guys screaming and pounding their fists on a table.
"WTF???? Who has upset my child this way?!"
She looked so startled and almost afraid. I was pissed. There's no call for that behavior toward my kid!
Then I found out they were color pictures from "12 Angry Men."
My daughter is an actress when she's not out saving the world.
I felt like an idiot, but I still laugh at myself about it. And the kids join right in.

(14,337 posts)Hey, boss, I'm taking a sick day tomorrow to get my vasectomy. Can HE be fired too under this legislation? That would be outright discrimination if it ONLY applied to female employees. If they are using this religious discrimination against birth control. it cannot be just for females. Catholic church bans ALL birth control, which also includes condoms and vasectomies, for MEN too. Hey, guess these legislators forgot, or don't want to think, about firing males for contraceptive use.
Not just bigots, but morons too.

(35 posts)Republicans seem to think females should all be virgins just trembling at their touch, while all the men are free to enjoy sex and put as many notches on their belts as they can. Who they think men will have sex with is a mystery, since Republicans hate women, gays, prostitutes, & anybody else who might be on the receiving eND of a penis. So since they want to restrict women's sex & outlaw homosexuality, logically all the men would have to be blue-balled virgins who only have sex for procreation as well. That means any male sex aids must be restricted to only married couples who are healthy enough to bring up children. (Since their "logic" against marriage equality requires that couples procreate, we'll have to assume that the marriages of all sick, elderly, or people whose children have grown will all be dissolved by Jeeezus.) So employees of "Christian" businesses such as Hobby Lobby should not have access to penis pumps (covered by Medicare, btw) or viagra, without proof that they are trying to procreate. Maybe Christian bosses will even demand they get to watch- just to be sure.

(2,227 posts).......of stupidity to divide and conquer their many gerrymandered congressional districts to maintain power. The great comics are all liberal Dems who provide a counter balance. Al Franken actually ran for and was elected to the Senate. I wish more would pursue politics. They embarrass the knuckle-draggers effortlessly.

(348 posts)just saw her live, about 4 weeks back, and she was very funny. I would only point out that she is missing a larger point here. I just googled a bunch of anti abortion protests and lo and behold there were a lot of women in that crowd. Most of the front lines and I would submit at least 50% if not more of the crowd. So, she might want to ask a few women too while she is at it. I don't think this message would play quite as well if the roles were reversed.
