Wife hits husband with SUV after argument over recalls

A Chippewa Falls man who repeatedly tried to block his estranged wife from driving to the polls Tuesday was hospitalized with head, neck and back injuries when she struck him with her sport utility vehicle.

<snip>

The pair had been arguing early Tuesday afternoon over who she was going to vote for in the gubernatorial recall election primary, said Chippewa Falls Police Chief Wendy L. Stelter.

When Amanda Radle, 30, attempted to pull out, Jeffrey Radle, 36, stood in front of her, according to a police department statement. She nudged him with the vehicle several times.

When she finally attempted to drive around him, Jeffrey Radle jumped in front of the vehicle and was hit. Aman da Radle left the scene and went to the police department to report the incident, the release said.

I don't care if he was trying to keep someone from voting, you don't hit them with your gigantic car.

If he wasn't such an asshole, he wouldn't have needed to worry about it.

Or do you go about standing in the way of other peoples' vehicles and then whining about it when you get hit?

did he think would happen? When you play chicken with a moving vehicle, you lose.

9. The account says he jumped in front of the car as it was moving. That is at least mitigating.

She should have stopped and called for help. Yes.

There may be more to the story though. Was he armed or did she have reason to believe he might be armed, for example? It says they were "estranged." That suggests he should not have been there in the first place. There may be a lot more to this story than meets the eye. Sounds like it even could be a stalking situation. She may have been afraid of him. There was a history of domestic violence. Maybe the car is the only weapon she had.

7. Was Walker even in this election?

I thought it was just a primary to select an opponent for him in the recall election.

So if he didn't have a primary opponent, why did he give a rats ass if she went to vote?

Of course if he was indeed a Walker supporter he obviously didn't bother to think that through.

Though I'd never wish to defend her actions, I can certainly see why being married to a Walker-loving teabagger, might make one lose it. At least her "insanity" is likely temporary.

"These crazy liberal nuts are always pulling this crap," said Radle's brother, Mike Radle, describing himself and his brother as firm supporters of Walker, the subject of the recall.

And his non-crazy conservative non-nutty, who was in the act of violating federal voting law at the time of his injury, had nothing to do with the outcome.

I really don't care which side either party in the fight was taking. It's such bullshit.

"To think that people would become that distraught over an election is very concerning," the chief said.

Words of wisdom.
