5. The conspiracy is a conspiracy in itself

The Russian government is supporting and funding RW groups such as The Oathkeepers, Alex Jones Infowars, World Nut Daily, The Sludge Report and various YouTube channels such as "we are change", "DAHBOO77" to sew seeds of distrust against the American Military and to get them to report on troop movement.

Now why would they would they choose right wingers?

Right wingers are heavily involved in the US Military, they either are serving, have served or have family members who are serving. This works heavily in the Russian government's favor because you've now got thousands of people within your foe's military who will refuse orders, commit acts of sabotage, report troop movements, leak documents, etc.
