France, Greece, and the USA...
France and Greece threw out their old political Parties and started anew. America did very much the same in the limited number of primaries that took place yesterday. However, it was not socialism or fascism winning any elections in America - it was the new, radical right-wing of the Republican Party.
First of all, they chose to throw out one of the most established political players in Washington, Senator Dick Lugar of Indiana. He was too moderate. So they replaced him with a conservative that said there was too much "bipartisanship" going on in Washington.
Also, the right-wing made new inroads in the battleground state of North Carolina. They were able to put the same-sex marriage issue on the ballot and they won overwhelmingly, almost 2 to 1. Most likely, this was an indicator of the divisive battle to come in the fall election.
The radical changes in France and Greece appear to be only beginning in the USA. No one can predict what will happen in November. The wealthy businessman, Romney, is attempting to hold on and to expand the gains of his class. They have no plans of going gently into the night...
