But I'm seriously confused about how it's supposed to work. The air intake is the lower nozzle, right?

If so, his seat is gonna catch on fire.

I don't even like to go fast on a riding lawn mower these days.

At some point in the future, I expect to see one of these featured in the Darwin Awards.
