Romney: Obama Takes Unfair Credit for Oil Gains

that's cause you drilled it yourself, right Mittens??

Mitt Romney, campaigning amid oil rigs dotting the landscape in Colorado, said President Barack Obama’s policies have hurt U.S. energy output and that regulation of hydraulic fracturing for natural gas should be left to states.

“The president tries to take credit for the fact that oil production is up,” the former Massachusetts governor and presumptive Republican presidential nominee told supporters against the backdrop of an oil rig outside Fort Lupton.

“I’d like to take credit for the fact that when I was governor, the Red Sox won the World Series,” he said, referring to the team’s 2004 title. “But neither one of those would be the case. It was not the president’s policies that led to oil production being up.”

Romney said that while oil and gas industry employment has grown during Obama’s presidency, wind-energy jobs have declined. He also criticized Obama’s January decision to reject a TransCanada Corp. (TRP) proposal to build an oil pipeline through environmentally sensitive parts of Nebraska.

Man, it's going to be a long, slow, aggravating slog to November 6. First he takes credit for the rebounding auto industry and now this. And yesterday in Lansing he talked about the demise of Oldsmobile like it happened under Obama and Oldsmobile was eliminated in like 2004!!!! I hate it when politicians insult my intelligence. At least he knew that whole taking credit for the surging auto industry wasn't going to fly here so he didn't bother.

Seems like Mitt is only concerned with 'credit' for this and 'credit' for that and has no real agenda at all.

All articles I've read indicates that producton wasn't hurt because of Obama policies, that instead stats show an increase in production. Not sure how that means Obama is taking CREDIT for any of it. Obama is clearly showing that his policies haven't hurt the production as touted by the RW talking heads.
