Edit: I left out our dear friends from big pharma such as Johnson & Johnson, Pifzer, and Merck who have put in so much time and effort to help rid the world of low margin, low price prescription drugs.

(13,877 posts)did not require any political capital on job give-aways et al. It required kissing off and marginalizing the Progressives.
But one good thing I can think of might have been accomplished, I think that for Bernie to get serious, he had to come under the Democratic Party. Now, we have someone, a real candidate, to present common sense to average Americans. I just hope enough of them who have been turned off and do not vote, will get inspired. He surely won't get much help from the DNC and the like...that's Hillaryland.
I think the campaigning and the debates will tell the story. I wouldn't say the press has warmed up to Bernie, but without him, they wouldn't have much to cover during the Primary. It's one political season I'm looking forward to.

(11,443 posts)As the TPP crap dragged on year after year since 2007 I was beginning think he was going to a four corners offense, just stall to the end of his term, and then dump the piece of shit on the next administration.

(4,522 posts)They are in an all out push with their minions and bots to try to push this thru.
The atmosphere is eerily similar to the period before the bail out, war in the gulf, Iraq, etc. It's a push push and make it seem inevitable. Demonize the opposition, confuse and obfuscate, then jam it thru.
