a guy who's kept the country safe
a guy who killed America's number on enemy and threat
a guy who has tried to fix one of life's biggest assets, the healthcare system
and a guy who endorses freedom and equality for all Americans no matter who you are...
well, then, you should just move to Afghanistan because your views closely reflect those of the Taliban and not an American.

Richard Nixon times: America. Love it or leave it.
Really, how can you say that? He bombs drones over targets and now doesn't even have to determine if they are viable. Children are dead.
There are many things he does that suck big time. I will always speak to them. If some think that is 'hate' then grow up. I'm sick and tired of being told to shut up or move the hell out. To say that to people who because they are American they are voicing their opinions is to be something other than American yourself. So I say, RV, an American not a Taliban. Jayzus.
And we're not going the fuck anywhere. But thanks for sharing.

(40,656 posts)move to Afghanistan because that is where I 'belong' is shit. Who wouldn't be offended. You can see the same thing in old Rimjob's 'fuck off if you support Romney' stuff. It isn't American to tell people they can't have their own opinions. The op should move to Afghanistan. That is where that attitude rules.
I grew up in the fifties where conformity ruled. Fuck that. America, love it or leave it? Never.

(26,467 posts)it's an obvious campaign.
it's not hard to tell the difference between the two.

(68,918 posts)Because I don't look at it as an accomplishment. Some have a very hard time telling the difference between the two.

(114,904 posts)I hate that his admin uses drones. I hate that he's expanded the surveillance state. I don't think Osama bin-Laden was America's number one threat. I don't think he's nearly as good as he should be on freedom, privacy and liberty issues.
I support the President's re-election bid.
I loath your McArrthyite post AND
Who the fuck are YOU to tell me that I "should move to Afghanistan"?
Take your disgusting bullying some place else.

(23,926 posts)Like you, I disagree with some of the President's positions, but as I don't hate him, I'm not offended by this post. If, on the other hand, you DO hate the President, then I agree with every word in the OP. Otherwise, you were not advised to "move to Afghanistan", and appear to be looking to take offense to a non-existent event.
(And "McArrthyite" (sic) minimizes the suffering of those who were permanently damaged by the actions of Tail Gunner Joe.)

(114,904 posts)I really dislike these "love it or leave it" posts. I think they're intellectually dishonest.
And yes, I made a typo, but I stand by the statement.

(23,926 posts)But my objection is to a knee-jerk "How dare you" response to a statement that wasn't made. The OP stated in clear, concise English "If you hate..." and proceeded from there. You responded that you don't hate Obama, and then went on as if the post was aimed at you anyway. If you dislike the tenor of the post, say so. But please don't pretend that you were attacked when you were not.
cali
(114,904 posts)I'm not pretending I was attacked. I'm stating that it was an attack.

(23,926 posts)GLBTQ individuals to be deserving of equal rights. Likewise for those who oppose a woman's right to choose. I believe that I suggested that those people would be more comfortable in a theocracy such as Afghanistan.
Was I setting up an adversarial frame? Was that an attack?
