Across Wisconsin, people tell me all the time: Our politics in Washington are broken, and multi-millionaires, billionaires, and big corporations are calling all the shots.
Wisconsinites are tired of it, but no one says they want to throw in the towel. And I don't either.
But if we want to change our politics, we all have to fight together. So let me cut to the chase:
I'm running for United States Senate in Wisconsin, and I wanted you to be one of the first to know.

I dream of him being appointed to SCOTUS but will be so excited to see him representing us again. He & Tammy Baldwin together are like a DREAM!!!

(45,274 posts)The only thing that can kill his chances is if everyone stays home. That's what defeated him in 2010. It being a Presidential Election year, there's not much chance of that.

(57,936 posts)We need a progressive slate in our Democratic Party right now -- headed by (informally) Bernie Sanders.
We need to run progressive candidates in every district in the US. That's the only way to get our message out. Let's see who else stands up to the plate.
How about some economists?
How about some small business owners who are progressive?
How about scientists, lawyers, doctors who are progressive?
How about union members and leaders?
Why don't we have more teachers and pastors (liberal ones) running?
You do need to be able to speak and make sense. And you need a moral heartbeat that knows right from wrong, cheaters and liars from the honest and hard-working. There are many of us. Let's see who will run?

(7,321 posts)frankly. His highly principled, very courageous stand on a myriad of civil rights issues especially regard the Patriot Act was (and still is) exceedingly critical.
But to have him back in the Senate? Yes, absolutely. Bravo!
PeaceNikki
(27,985 posts)But after we get some more of him here in Wisconsin first.
We deserve it, it's been a fucked up past 5 years here.

(54,378 posts)I just sent him a big chunk of money. I REALLY miss his voice in the Senate, and I don't see the voters of Wisconsin making the same mistake twice. Johnson is a world class dork, standing out even among a Republican Senate caucus filled with major dorks. Besides that, wouldn't Wisconsin be one proud state to have Tammy Baldwin AND Russ Feingold as their Senate team? And imagine Russ Feingold coming back to the Senate as the JUNIOR Senator!!
I also, regretfully, went through Act Blue. I can't stand them. Nearly every time I make a contribution through them, they "review" my contribution, flagging it for some reason--presumably because they see I'm making it from overseas with a credit card registered in Texas. Well, MAYBE I'm the only Democrat stationed abroad who makes contributions to Democratic candidates, but I sorta doubt it. Next time, I'll just send Russ a check.
Act Blue always asks for contributors to "leave them a tip." When they stop taking up my time to have to check on their "reviewing" my contributions, then I'll start leaving them a tip, if for nothing else, then to reward them for the time saved!

(24,695 posts)now go on his site and send in my small pittance to help correct this corruption that has invaded this congress----------- ie........... Starting with Citizen United, and the other corrupt ruling by the right wing U.S. Supreme Court -----McCutcheon and lets not forget the PATRIOT ACT.
YEAH-------we have another progressive running-------YEAH
And how and now we need to change the FEC to be a citizens body instead of appointees ---they are being held hostage by the right wing republicans

(45,319 posts)Wisconsin deserves better than it's getting right now, I have long, long family ties to Wisconsin. It was to Wisconsin that my Grandfather and his brother came to work directly from Ellis Island, on their entry records at Ellis the word 'Wisconsin' is the first bit of America attached to the boys, it was their password.

(81,261 posts)Get RID of that squatter in his seat. We need Feingold's voice in there! Particularly since Barbara Boxer is leaving. She'll very likely be replaced by Kamala Harris so that seat will stay blue. But we SORELY need Feingold to turn that temporarily red Wisconsin seat back blue, too.
We need to keep the White House AND take back the Senate.
