My take on these trade deals

They are a done deal. Big business wants them and big business gets what it wants. Some politicians will make a show to placate members of the public, but in the end money talks.

All we can do is make the best of what we can in our personal lives and try not to buy products that contribute to our demise.

Also, given that we do have one champion in the wings - Bernie Sanders - it behooves us to make sure he is properly seated in the White House so that he may be able to fight for us against big business.

It bothers me so many are quite upset over the shenanigans of the politicians and are inclined to be turned off by those actions. But it is just the way of the business world. We need all of us involved and active if we are ever to turn the tide, so I hate to see them become disengaged over something so basic.

I hate seeing how good people keep getting jerked around by the 'show'

It is no wonder so many just stay out of politics. Sometimes I wonder why I stay in politics at all. But then I remember the things I have helped change and it makes me dive back in.

They get tired of the lies and half-truths, the false hope, the theater. It's hard to stay engaged, but we have to.
