Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell ripped the GOP on Wednesday, referring to them as “SOBs” during an interview with Chris Hayes on MSNBC the day after tragedy struck in his state.
House Republicans showed just how little they care about public safety on Tuesday after they voted to cut railway infrastructure spending after a deadly crash that killed seven and injured 50 Amtrak passengers only hours earlier.
Democrats proposed increasing spending to repair the old railway infrastructure in response to the derailment that had occurred earlier that same day. But not only did House Republicans reject the proposal, they voted to slash railway funding by $270 million. And this did not impress Rendell in the slightest.
“Those SOBs, and that’s all I can call them, these SOBs didn’t even have the decency to table the vote,” Rendell said, adding that Republicans were pathetic and embarrassing.
