(10,621 posts)If you believe the story of the Gospels, he's basically an omnipotent being who had the power to establish his kingdom on Earth with the snap of his fingers. He chose not to, the story goes, because he wanted people to choose their own path based on their own free will.
if you believe the story of the gospels, his "kingdom" was always an inner, spiritual kingdom that had nothing to do with earthly politics, and his clueless disciples never "got" that.
