Republicans still plan on running on foreign policy expertise...

Democrats should accept their challenge.

Listening to a few of the morning news shows, it appears they have gotten their marching orders and they are doubling down on Jeb Bush's comments earlier this week.

"We are better off with Saddam Hussein gone", one of them said.

Almost to a person, they did not think it was a "mistake" to go into Iraq. It seems they have changed their positions from just yesterday?

I am not a Democratic strategist but it seems to me that Democrats should make them defend their position right up to election day. It's going to be difficult for Jeb Bush to backtrack on the comments he has made thus far.

The bind that the Republicans find themselves in is not easy to escape. They cannot simultaneously charge Barack Obama and the Democrats with incompetence and, at the same time, admit that the biggest military blunder of our lifetimes is of their doing. They have no choice but to defend George W Bush and the Iraqi invasion.
