Red nose day...just another scam

I just asked how much of the 1 dollar would go to feed kids.
Was told 50 cents...scammer motherfuckers.
Of course walgreens has to profit from your feeling for
hungry kids.

I was going to buy several for my kids, but not now

one of several corporate sponsors. In the UK Red Nose Day is known for the Golden Pound Principle, which means every Pound given goes to the charities, running expenses and the rest covered by Corporate Sponsors. Over a billion pounds raised over the last 30 years.
So. Your claim that Walgreens is profiting from this event requires far more than 'I was told'.

I looked around for info, but couldn't find anything with a figure.
I am pretty skeptical about charity's and how much they skim.

My husband is a store manager for Walgreens and they've been told that it's 80% or better going to charity. Since this is the first year they're involved, they do anticipate some costs for setup, but they've also secured other corporate sponsors to help with that. There's a whole list of them on their website, rednoseday.org. What is true about "50%" is that half of the charitable funds raised will be distributed here in the U.S. and the other half around the world.

*Noses are sold for $1 each, with 50 cents being contributed to the Red Nose Day Fund. No portion of purchase is tax deductible. Red Nose Day Fund’s objective is to lift children out of poverty in the US and overseas. For more information about Red Nose Day Fund, visit RedNoseDay.org.

Walgreen is donating 50 cents from every $1 red nose sold, but the noses cost 50 cents each . Walgreens is taking no profit. Here's a link that explains: http://walgreens.new-media-release.com/red_nose/pages/fullrelease.html#more

They are made in freaking slave labor China ... and they are making an insane profit from them... it's disgusting this is common practice in modern society ... We have to start fixing society by not allowing a profit to be made from fund-raising for a cause ...
