Can't believe this hasn't been posted yet

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said on Sunday that he thought former President George W. Bush had acted correctly by authorizing the 2003 invasion of Iraq based on facts known at the time.
It was not a mistake for the president to go into Iraq based on the information that he was provided as president, Rubio told host Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday.
He wasnt dealing with a Nobel Peace Prize winner, Rubio said of the second Bush administrations struggles with Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.
The world is a better place because Saddam Hussein is not there, Rubio added of the invasions aftermath.
Rubio, a 2016 GOP presidential candidate, said that the second Bush administration acted on the best available intelligence it had at the time.
That analysis, he added, initially implied that Iraq had obtained weapons of mass destruction.
It was governed by a man who in the past had committed atrocities with weapons of mass destruction, Rubio said of Husseins regime in Iraq.
Rubio said it was unfair to criticize former President George W. Bushs decision simply because Iraqs stockpile of weapons of mass destruction never materialized.

(41 posts)This guy is barely 40 years old and acts like he knows anything. He was a teacher and now mouths off about things he knows nothing about.
"The world is a better place because Saddam Hussein is not there, Rubio added of the invasions aftermath."
Yes, it's a better place for you, Mr. Rubio, as long as you let others do the dirty work.
"Rubio, a 2016 GOP presidential candidate, said that the second Bush administration acted on the best available intelligence it had at the time."
I guess the "best" intelligence includes lying.

(58,604 posts)It was intentional, thus not a "bad intelligence" based error.
The PNAC crowd have wanted to invade Iraq for years and years. They finally found a figurehead pretzledent stupid enough to buy into their bullshit and actually do it. And Congress followed along like good little corporate shill sheep.
Not a mistake, just a world class clusterfuck from the word go.
