Israeli government to pay African refugees $3,500 to leave

The government says it wants to preserve Israel's ethnic character

The Israeli government will pay $3,500 grants to African refugees to encourage them to leave the country, it has said.

The country’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the move was designed to “protect the Jewish and democratic character” of the Middle Eastern state.

The country’s coalition cabinet voted unanimously last weekend to approve the plan, drawn up by the country’s new Interior Minister Silvan Shalom and supported by Mr Netanyahu.

“We are determined to remove the tens of thousands of infiltrators who are here, after we lowered to zero the number of work-seeking infiltrators who have entered Israel’s cities,” Mr Netanyahu said at the cabinet meeting, according to a government release.

Israel already pays grants of $1,500 to migrants who agree to leave but the proposal would see the figure raised to $3,500.

I hope you're consistent with that. I mean the was an Italy official or someone affiliated the search & rescue effortswho came up with the "let 'em drown" idea because there are boats capsizing in the Meditarrian every week, one 1,000 died in one week creating an EU crisis but the idea was it would discourage further with no clue what it is they're fleeing from. There has been a mass exodus to Europe where the solutions seem to not address the root causes and there are politicians all over Europe with very ugly anti-immigration rhetoric under the cover for populists reasons appealing to fears. Now I agree the US should use consistency in all the US diplomatic relations but you have taxpayers paying the costs for the weapons used that are being dropped on Yemen. Giving someone $3K+ ranks about the lowest when it comes to worst I've read on how countries are dealing with the mass exodus to Switzerland's credit (or I could thinking of Sweden has given refugee status to more Iraqi refugees years ago than European countries have called on the EU to do more but election season it is politically difficult particularly with the rhetoric they are using.

On edit -- I read the second paragraph a little closer but there are things that still stand such as other countries behavior that I'd hope there is similar pressure to provide pressure to end this alllying with human rights violators and holding everyone else as well encounter for a time where there is quite a level of racist rhetoric being used to address the EU mass exodus crisis.

6. If they find this to be a solution it is only going to lead to more hoping for $3,500 but either way

considering where they are coming from whatever is done -- like the US build a fence whatever but if you have MS-13 back in Ecuador you're not going back home.
