Of course, the last time he went to Sandtown, he got booed.

(2,792 posts)Federal Hill Park has historic significance for O'Malley. That location is important for the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. O'Malley is an avid student of the War of 1812. In the History Channel's documentary of the War of 1812, O'Malley appeared in a segment about the British attack on Baltimore in 1814.
Ironically, Warren Avenue is adjacent to the park.
As a native, I should have known that. Then again, I left long before O'Malley appeared on the scene, and thus did not know he was a War of 1812 buff. Perhaps he can work that into his campaign narrative, with the repukes and corps cast as the invading British.

(2,792 posts)O'Malley also had a small role playing himself in the movie, "Ladder 49." We actually have the DVD.
O'Malley has referenced the War of 1812 in his speeches on more than one occasion. If you wish to read more about this interest, this article might help you:

(2,792 posts)Robert Ehrlich and Michael Steele... It was such a relief to have O'Malley and Brown replace that corrupt team.

(50,152 posts)A robust primary is always a good thing.
Three excellent candidates, once Martin O'Malley announces, to choose from and maybe even more before too long.
