Another Reason To Love Bernie... He Walks The Walk.

Bernie Sanders’ 2014 speaking gigs netted less than $2K

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) netted of $1,867.42 for two paid speeches and a television appearance last year, according to according to financial disclosure reports.

The total reflects a paltry sum compared to the millions of dollars collected over the same period by former secretary of State Hillary Clinton, against whom Sanders is vying for the Democratic presidential nomination.

The highest-valued Sanders appearance, a spot on comedian Bill Maher’s HBO show “Real Time with Bill Maher” in November, was worth only worth $850.

Financial disclosure reports show he gave the money to a charity, a non-profit called Northeast Kingdom Community Action that helps low-income families in Vermont.

Clinton, the Democratic presidential frontrunner, has come under some scrutiny for the large speaking fees for opponents who want to paint her as out of touch.

Recent financial reports showed that she and her husband, President Bill Clinton, earned $25 million for delivering a total of 104 speeches last year.

The former secretary of State made 51 speeches during...

The media doesn't play me at all. I don't watch what passes for "news" on tv nor listen to it on the radio...I read it from diverse sources. I don't wait for the "media" to spin a goddamned thing for me.

I have no problem finding and evaluating the records of politicians to know where they stand on the issues that drive me. I really have no trouble at all wading through the shit on the surface that passes for spin, talking points, or whatever you want to call it to find what remains. I don't need the Senate Code of Conduct to know whether or not a politician's record earns my support.

Remember that NYT article the other day about how the right is fooling the left fringe and using them as a tool? This is an example. How does it feel?

to try to make sense of whatever it is you are trying to say. I don't hear any fiddles, I'm not being played, and watching you turn yourself inside out in your attempt to do so isn't even mildly entertaining, or really enough of anything to bother with.

Whatever point you are failing to make isn't coming within miles of a target.

I'm feeling just fine tonight, though, since you asked.

-worked with Sidney Blumenthal while at State. True, she followed the letter of the WH Mandate that she not hire the slimeball, but that's hardly respecting the spirit.

State Dept. official: Hillary Clinton’s email practices ‘not acceptable’

By Josh Gerstein

5/6/15 11:44 AM EDT

A senior State Department official testifying at the first congressional hearing focusing on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email account for official business called such an arrangement “not acceptable” and said other employees have been warned against it.
