Do you agree with FOX NEWS' attempt to subvert the democratic process by arbitrarily and capriciously winnowing the number of Republican presidential candidates who can appear in their televised debates?
I want to see the entire clown car on the dais

(16,423 posts)Fox News' debate, Fox News' rules. There is no inalienable right to be on TV. The only thing the candidates left out can do is suing Fox News for giving the other candidates an unfair advantage with free coverage effectively being a form of campaign-donation.

(99,708 posts)I can't imagine anything more entertaining than a two hour debate with two dozen debaters.
It's the political equivalent of a Battle Royale:
I would demand they wear wrestling tights as well.

(20,817 posts)but we know they'd never do that. Don't be so sure this isn't the power people in the party (they ARE the Republican Party) doing this and not FOX. If you think the Republican Party cares about voters and Democracy then your probably someone foolish enough to vote for a Republican. I doubt many DUers think they cared to begin with.

(6,409 posts)I see what you mean. Some voters will look at the extremely crazy candidates and conclude the moderately crazy candidates are OK. On the other hand, many people will conclude, correctly, that the Republican Party is incapable of coming up with anybody who is not totally berserk.

(9,766 posts)I can sort of see this. 10 would be tough to manage...more than that would be a mess.
A fun mess, but a mess just the same.
