Flashback: Duggars Call LGBT People A Threat To Child Safety; Duggar Resigns From FRCSUBMITTED BY Brian Tashman on Thursday, 5/21/2015 6:20 pm
The entertainment magazine In Touch reported this week on police records that they say reveal that Josh Duggar, the eldest son of reality TVs Duggar family and executive director of the anti-gay Family Research Councils political wing, as a minor was turned in to the police by his father for fondling girls, likely his sisters, while they were asleep.
Duggars group, the Family Research Council, regularly paints the LGBT community as a precarious threat to children, and he and his family have participated in that rhetoric.
Last December, Duggar led a successful campaign to defeat a LGBT nondiscrimination measure in Fayetteville, Arkansas, which he said jeopardized the safety of children during an interview on the FRC radio program Washington Watch

This particular angle has barely gotten any coverage at all, and I find that inexcusable.

Cults aren't easy on girls. I am surprised the sisters weren't blamed.

Even here, you couldn't criticize them without being castigated it because, choice!

at LGBT people to cover for their own corruption. It's what these types always do. Wise up, straight people, for the sake of your own children.

An environment where men are taught they own and control women's bodies.

It makes me sick. They're saying it was a normal teen mistake and that they are being persecuted by liberals/LGBT because they are Christian. They are actually defending Child molestation.

From 1999 to 2002, Duggar served in the Arkansas House of Representatives for the sixth district, which included part of northern Washington County, Arkansas.[6][7][8] Duggar was vice chair of the House Corrections and Criminal Law Subcommittee and also participated in the Insurance and Commerce Committee and Judiciary Committee.[9]
He also ran in the Republican Party of Arkansas primary election for the United States Senate in 2002, but lost to Tim Hutchinson.[10] Duggar sought the Republican nomination to the Arkansas State Senate District 35 seat in 2006,[11][12] but lost to candidate Bill Pritchard by 200 votes.

When he did 'report his sons actions to the authorities', it was to a police officer he knew personally, and no investigation was opened. That officer is now serving 56 years in prison for child pornography.
Jim Bob then met with the elders of his church and told them what was going on. No one alerted the police or any other law enforcement agency. Instead they decided to send Josh to a program [that] consisted of hard physical work and counseling. James said that [redacted, Josh] was in the program from March 17, 2003 until July 17, 2003.
He said the program was a Christian program. Michelle Duggar later admitted to police that Josh did not receive counseling and instead had been sent during that time to a family friend who was in the home remodeling business.
Asked about the training center that Jim Bob said Josh was sent to, Michelle told police, according to the report, it was not really a training center. Det. [Darrell] Hignite asked if the guy [redacted, Josh] talked to was a certified counselor. She said no. She said it was a guy they know in Little Rock that is remodeling a building. Det. Hignite asked if the guy was more of a mentor. She said kind of.

Jim Bob told police in 2006 that when Josh returned home in 2003, Jim Bob, accompanied by some of his church elders, took Josh to Arkansas State Trooper, Jim Hutchens. Jim Bob knew Hutchens personally. Hutchens did not take any official action and instead gave Josh a very stern talk. As In Touch magazine reports exclusively in this weeks issue, Hutchens is now serving 56-years in prison for child pornography. He took no action on the Duggar case.
