HS Friend Accuses Romney Of ‘Lying’ Over Bullying Incident

Somehow today, Mitt Romney has found himself in the most 2012 political scandal ever after The Washington Post published a report accusing him of being an anti-gay bully while going to his elite private high school. Heck, the only thing that could have made this story more perfect is if he had hassled gay kids while stealing poor women’s birth control. The GOP candidate responded by telling reporters he “did some dumb things” back then, he now apologizes, and, if it helps, he doesn’t believe he “thought the fellow was homosexual.” Now, ABC News is reporting that another classmate of Romney’s is accusing him of “lying.”

"One fellow classmate of Romney's at Cranbrook says he believes Romney is lying when he says he doesn't remember the Lauber incident."

That looks pretty bad, right? But you know what, whoever this classmate is, he’d never have gotten to say that if Romney had NEVER RESPONDED IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Even though he was 'just cutting his hair', it was scissors. If scissors are sharp enough to cut hair, I would think they could do damage elsewhere, especially up near the eyes, ears, etc.

My 6th grade son had his hair cut by another kid a few months back. The after school program we have him enrolled in took it very seriously. The kid that did it got one warning, was suspended, had to have a conference with the counselor and his parents. He also had to write an apology letter to my son and his father. It wasn't anywhere near what Romney is said to have done. Nobody was holding my son down and there was only one kid involved in the incident. The kid just snuck up behind my son and cut his cowlick off the back of his head - almost to roots. If he bullies my son, or anyone else again, he'll be automatically expelled.

Middle school was a living hell for me, and that was in the 80's. I was totally on my own.

... he “thought the fellow was homosexual.”... then I guess that proves that he does remember the incident.

And, unless he has a history of stalking and attacking kids with blonde hair, he's lying about why he did it.

He does have a history of bullying gay kids. Blondes, not so much.

Like a lot of people on the board, I was bullied a lot, but unlike some (and not to knock you because I know every life is different), when I got in high school, I started lifting weights and was suddenly at least as big as my tormenters. For the most part, I dealt with them intellectually or sarcastically and only had to resort to physicality a few times (when attacked), but I would be lying if I said I wasn't proud that I took the swagger away from at least one high school classroom bully. I wish the kid and a group of his friends could have gotten Romney alone and taken some clippers to his coif. Maybe if Mittens had gotten a taste of his own medicine, he wouldn't be the asshole he is today because it's becoming more obvious that his behavior isn't completely due to being an out-of-touch rich kid but because he's used to bullying to get his way in life, and for possibly the first time, people are pushing back.
