Quack, quack!
Pedestrians and bikers who travel along narrow towpaths in English cities including London, Birmingham, and Manchester are warned to take it slow as dedicated "duck lanes" have been put in place.
Similar in concept to bike lanes in cities around the world, the stark white duck emblems on the asphalt indicate specialized lanes for the cities' slow-waddling friends.
Richard Parry, chief executive of the Canal & River Trust says the paths was created to encourage travelers to respect the space.

(14,449 posts)1. Ducks stay in your own lane
I think it is cool until someone hits one and says "but the duck was in the biker lane". It will happen and that excuse will be used.

And this is the risk you take when getting out of your lane:
