Duggar Family Mentor Resigns From Right Wing Religious Organization Amid Sex Scandal

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2015/05/22/duggar-family-mentor-resigns-from-right-wing-religious-organization-amid-sex-scandal/

The revelation that Josh Duggar is a child molester is currently blowing up the internet. Even worse, is the fact that his family concealed that fact, and all the while, Duggar has been rubbing elbows with a bunch of the GOP’s prized crop of 2016 presidential hopefuls. All in all, it’s not a good day for the sex-obsessed, woman-controlling, gay-hating “family values” crowd.

Well, guess what? Things are about to get even worse in that crazy corner of America, as Bill Gothard, a mentor to the Duggar family, has resigned from the Christian homeschooling organization he ran amid accusations of his sexually harassing more than 35 women and teenage girls. According to Radar Online, the 79-year-old Gothard is the founder of Institutes of Basic Life Principles, which the Duggar family supported and frequented. Of course, the good Christian responded the allegations in the only way such people know how to do: by quoting the Bible, saying that he wishes to “listen to those who made accusations against him.”

I respect a lot of religions BUT this quiverfull stuff and the religious right (those trying to mix church and state) I cannot stand. I also wonder how all this fallout will effect future election. Are we seeing the slow crumbling of this branch of the republican party?

It was like EST for Evangelicals. People would go to one of his seminars for a week, come back glassy eyed robots, and tirelessly recruit others to go.

I think that some of the rats will begin to desert the Ship of Deception and Addiction to Religion.

But, IMO, Josh Duggar should not be the Scapegoat...His father and his mother were responsible for him legally and spiritually when all of this took place. They failed him, at the very least. They enabled him and did not protect their daughters. The "church" failed him, even the Sheriff to this day is failing him by expunging the records of the evil of abuse that he and his sisters ...really the whole family ... have held inside them all of these years.

As they say, the apple does not fall far from the tree...and the tree is the parents...they were responsible and they should be the first to go. Their "church" in the backyard, their tax-free income, their free $2 million dollar house, and The Learning Channel/Discovery Channel (such irony) knew the rumors and enabled them, as well. Oprah heard just in time and sent them packing 10 years or so ago.

The girls, I just can't even touch on that here. Merely chattel. (property, albeit damaged, as in slaves)

There is another numbnut in one other organization tied closely to this still to go...but I think there will be even more. At least on this extreme Right Wing of the Protestant insanity, it's nearing closing time.

I agree with your post. But on the expunging of records... the judge ordered that, per TalkingPointsMemo:

Arkansas Police Ordered To Destroy Records of Josh Duggar's Alleged Molestation, 5/23/15

Springdale Police spokesman Scott Lewis said Judge Stacey Zimmerman ordered the 2006 offense report destroyed Thursday. Zimmerman didn't return a request for comment on Friday.

"The judge ordered us yesterday to expunge that record," Lewis said, adding that similar records are typically kept indefinitely. "As far as the Springdale Police Department is concerned this report doesn't exist."

Neither Duggar nor his father, a former state representative, returned calls seeking comment Friday.

in prison for porn. But the Records Destruction Drama was only symbolic, because it's on the internet. Just creepy from start to finish.

6. Judge Zimmerman - appointed by Mike Huckabee
Sun May 24, 2015, 01:13 AM
May 2015
Springdale (AR) Police spokesman Scott Lewis told the AP that he was ordered to destroy the report by Judge Stacey Zimmerman, who is the Juvenile Judge of Madison and Washington county, where the crime took place. Zimmerman so happens to have been appointed by Bible-thumping Duggar-supporting Mike Huckabee to two different positions while he was the governor of the state.

Ol' Huck came out real quick supporting these wierdos. I think I did read that it may be legally permissible because it was a juvenile record that had not had a conviction...or something like that.

The followers are blinded by their need to have authority figures.

Right Wingers NEVER admit they are wrong. They have devoted themselves to the idea that we are the source of all evil in the world so it wont be too long before we get blamed for this.

Nor would it surprise me if their whole 'quiver-full' crap wasn't a big funnel for a child pornography ring. Sick fucking creeps.
