with one caveat, these men and women are not putting their lives on the line to defend this country, their putting their lives on the line to defend the corporations.

I'm sick to death of fighting wars to protect "American interests."' What they mean is to protect American oul companies in the Middle East. BULLSHIT! Let them hire Blackwater themselves.

I think Bernie must say this politically. The USA is not ready for the truth.
Bernie is probably saying this because it's more important to take care of the veterans and this pushes the point with many. They think they fought for our freedom so why get tripped up in why?

I agree with you 100% though.
I wish more realized this.

...are causing us to spend less on aircraft carriers. This is according to a guest on yesterday's program. How refreshing is Bernie's statement. Of course they said pensions in the military are a "problem" like they are in so many areas of our economy.

However, the Economist magazine notes that the U.S. had to divert so much money due to the bankers following the financial crisis that military spending suffered. Beware of this trick of blaming people for the problems when it's really the rich, foolish Republicans, and Wall Street that's actually causing the problems.
