I was one of thousand's to say goodbye to Officer Kerrie Orozco today by OS

Below I'm in my Omaha Police civilian tactical uniform at the far right. The weather was beautiful with a slight breeze. It is getting ready to storm on the people at the vigil that is currently in progress.

I saw several friends I haven't talked to since I retired.

Kerrie was loved by the community that she gave so much of her own time to. And it showed.

Funneral tomorrow.

I just don't have a lot to say tonight.

is always tragic and hard on departments.

Most people do not get it, but departments are like small families, even larger departments

This has it's good and bad things to it. The good is that families grieve and families support each other. I will leave the bad for another day.

They will also have one mounted horse without a rider in the procession to the cemetery in Council Bluffs.

You are doing such a great job honoring Officer Orozco and the wonderful woman she was.

She was a beautiful person. I'm sure that her spirit will live on in her children, her friends and all the people she helped.

I know today will be a difficult day. Just know that her courage, tenacity, sweetness and caring is known to so many more because of you. We will be with you in thought today.
