And if I know him, the speech will be at the campaign site.

on a story on the California Five Year infrastructure plan.

They are not five year plans truly, they are issued every year, with the budget. But the hole in the moneys we need to pay for the stuff we already own is crazy. 66 billion.

The Rs tried to block the WPA, and took it to court. Cause, well you know, private sector, argle, bargle

Irony here, my County Administration building was BUILT during the WPA era, and was inaugurated by the President, FDR. It is old, it is art deco, it needs a lot of maintenance. The board of supers has been delaying that for years.

Doing what needs to be done will not be cheap. Replacing it is at least five times as much. But think of the favors to the construction types.

No, I am not cynical at all Not one bit. (I kid, I kid, I am)

For example, if some bible thumping fundies in a small town tried to ban the sale of Schweddy Balls ice cream because it was "indecent", Unilever, would be in court in two seconds arguing that the government cannot constitutionally bar it from using that name on its ice cream.

and Ben and Jerry still own a lot of rights to do what they want with the company even though that other "corporate person" owns them. I'm sure that Bernie was being a bit tongue and cheek in his comments earlier...

Frankly, I don't think it should have been alerted on never mind hidden.

The difference is Bernie Sanders will win. McGovern has more than a few obstacles that Senator Sanders isn't facing.

More importantly, look at the results of the election. Tricky Dicky won, secret bombings in Laos and Cambodia, aligning with Khmer Rouge students shot on 3 college campuses, Watergate and the first and only President to resign in shame

Shows how much better off we would be now had McGovern been elected.

Let’s be clear. This campaign is not about Bernie Sanders. It is not about Hillary Clinton. It is not about Jeb Bush or anyone else. This campaign is about the needs of the American people, and the ideas and proposals that effectively address those needs. As someone who has never run a negative political ad in his life, my campaign will be driven by issues and serious debate; not political gossip, not reckless personal attacks or character assassination. This is what I believe the American people want and deserve. I hope other candidates agree, and I hope the media allows that to happen. Politics in a democratic society should not be treated like a baseball game, a game show or a soap opera. The times are too serious for that.

In 1984 (I think), I played music at a VPIRG event, and there was a Ben & Jerry's ice cream stand. The VPIRG people told me they were a "good local brand." They had offered to pay me to play, but they brought in so little money at their event that it barely covered the money they had agreed to pay me. I guess Ben & Jerry didn't quite have their following yet.

Anyway, I told the VPIRG people to keep their money. I had fun, didn't need the money as badly as they did, and I liked the ice cream. Apparently, as time went on, so did quite a few other people, it would seem!
