(55,981 posts)and easily recognize your weak attempts at insult. I would put you on ignore but I find your obsession kind of weirdly flattering.

(133 posts)The title says it's a video, but if you're zipping through these things in a hurry it's possible to miss that, and if you don't happen mouse over the image the play button doesn't appear. Anyway, I read somewhere that it's now possible to supply information without being a jerk about it. (Yes, do as I say, not as I do...)

(6,107 posts)I'm not baffled by social media. And I thought the same. As mentioned below, arrow does not appear unless cursor is over the picture, and that is unusual.
Learn some manners.

(14,915 posts)but inflating numbers looks desperate. Its a good sized crowd without the fluff numbers.

(154,021 posts)according to Cali local media put this at 6 to 8 thousand.
I found media reports that did not mention any crowd size beyond thousands.

(154,021 posts)the Park service used it for the I have a dream speech. Essentially it is based on a grid you super impose on the photo. And the grid can fit a certain number of people per square. You count all your squares, multiply by number per square and you get a pretty close number.
Sadly the park service no longer releases the numbers.
If you know a physical space and capacity, you can come up with the numbers. They are not exact, but they are pretty close.
I learned that piece of trivia somewhere.

(114,904 posts)And the cops are pretty good at estimating a crowd there. They do it for a lot of events- from beer festivals to Grace Potter's annual festival.

(146,287 posts)It reminds me of the turnout for a rally for Betty McCollum in 2008. She's our congressional representative, and the rally was also a Barack Obama rally. Great, enthusiastic crowd, of about the same size. The best count we had for it was somewhere between 4-5,000.
