Kids in prison: documentary

Found this during my reaction to Josh Duggar's crime and my wanting him to pay for it: two kids, one twelve, one fourteen, in prison, charged as adults. Just wondering if there is any alternative. The prison system is supposed to make them suffer, but does it have to be absolute hell, with threats of rape, violence or murder constantly hanging around them? Same questions for adult prisons. How much punishment is just before it becomes inhumane?

the justice system for minors is screwed up and money sways decisions there. and finally the sex registry system is bad because it condemns some people who were arrested and prosecuted during the hysterical periods where people prompted children and the children were never doubted or people with money are allowed to plea to a lesser crime so they are not on the registry, It is just a farce. The duggars had some pull, they probably would have had it not count.

Though it's not a part of the video, I wonder how kids who don't even know what sex is yet can be sentenced for it. That may apply to Duggar, though he was certainly old enough to know, though his education was dumbed down exponentially--not trying to excuse him.
