Letterman and Hastert

Our man Letterman was being threatened with blackmail, got po'd, went to the cops with probably some proof of the CBS Executive's greedy aspersions, and let the law take care of the rest.

No matter what Hastert did, he should have had some faith in the cops. If he had only realized that being caught paying that kind of money for whatever. is worse than if he'd talked to Eric Holder about it. Contrition has a lot of merit no matter what has been done.

This may only be the tip of the iceberg. There may be many other things
going on in his shady life that he would prefer not see the light of day.
Letterman probably didn't have that problem.
