Oh my, Bernie dissed on Diane Rehm this am...

On NPR, the three Friday speakers (sorry, I didn't get names exactly).

They just reported that if something unpredictable happened to Hillary, Joe Biden or other candidate would step in. I'm paraphrasing, but they said Bernie Sanders was interesting, but stands no chance of being the nominee...

Wall Street Journal, Politico, and NPR represented.

Please don't shoot the messenger. I'm just posting what they said towards the end of the show:

... a right wing asshole newspaper owned by Murdoch, a hack job web site also known for the wingnut proclivities, and NPR, a center-right news organization that pretends to be liberal.

I could care less what any of them have to say. In fact, if these wingnuts LIKED Sanders, THAT would make me wonder.

... but Diane Rehm as right center? Are you daft?

The reality is that Sanders is a real long shot. Almost no chance.

RW rag news doesn't ever go away. You do your best to debunk the lies & call them out, but in the end, you hold onto the faith you have always had, in your candidate.

The more they attack, the stronger you believe in & stand by that one person that believes as you do.
Chatter is just chatter, its the soul that matters.

I can't imagine why that right wing rag would discount Bernie, and do whatever they can to ensure he doesn't get the nomination.

NPR isn't what it used to be, I can't even listen to it anymore.

That's why Occupy hit them so out of left field. Our corporate media simply doesn't notice the plebes until they've formed an enormous gathering, and even then, they don't understand it.

I used to listen to her show back when it was just a local DC-based program on WAMU. It was pretty good back then with insightful and thoughtful discussion. As it grew in popularity and then went national, however, the demeanor changed and it became a show that reinforced the elite inside-the-beltway mentality.

As annoying as the show could be with genteel Diane at the mic, I really couldn't stomach it when Steve Roberts guest-hosted for her.

I found him to be a smug, self-satisfied narcissist who enjoyed blathering on about his oh-so-charmed life.

I notice a lot of NPR's political commentary has the same faux-depth as mainstream media outlets with an emphasis on the same nonsensical conventional wisdom fed into by the same pundits paid by the same think tanks.

It really is disgusting at times.

I will continue in my history of not denigrating other Democrats but in the highly, highly, highly...highly unlikely event Hillary faltered the party would rally around Joe Biden and President Obama would put his considerably heavy thumb on the scale in favor of him.

I am sure you've all heard their endless begging for money.
Well, so have the Koch Brothers. They are one of the biggest sponsors of NPR.
Do you think they have any power over what is broadcast? Or do they do that in the interest of the community?
I would suggest that you save your piddly donations to NPR and use that money to get yourself satellite radio where they have at least a couple of progressive or liberal channels

Morning edition is almost as bad as Fox. Just sneakier. They interview one Republican after another. Count the numbers of Republican and Democratic interviews featured. I heard about ten anti-Omamacare segments in a row. Climate change deniers get equal time to science. Just listen objectively and don't be fooled by thinking they are just being balanced like they were at one time. Which was a very long time ago.

TYT is web based and not associated with public radio.

Of course some public radio outlets carry "Democracy Now!" But I don't really think of Amy Goodman as bait for corporate news. Heh.

Again though, public radio is kind of sad in their effort to appease the people seeking to knife them.
