I have empathy for Hastert's victim(s). I don't know I feel about Hastert.

1. I think he's only afraid because he got caught

After all, he can't have felt so bad for his victim - he kept it secret all these years.

2. Hastert is the guy

who snuck in the bill that outlawed online poker. He snuck it in the port authority act late in 2006, after the election that Dems won big.
I have never liked this asshole and am glad that he is getting his due.

4. He also swore in Brian Bilbray early in an election that replaced Randy Duke Cunningham...

... in my district at the time. And this was before ballot counting issues were resolved in that race. But since local judges couldn't "appeal" actions at a federal level that Hastert took, that decision of Hastert's couldn't be appealed in court.

I'll also be happy to see him get squashed down a bit more.

EDIT: Also note that Randy Duke Cunningham was rumored to have some gay affairs despite pushing anti-gay legislations too. I wonder if that factored in to Hastert wanting to get him replaced quickly at the time then too, given his "other" behavior?
