I keep hearing all kinds of things about this, yet I can not find the thread. Am I missing something, or was it a post in a thread? Does anyone have a link?
I don't believe he is a racist, and I find it hard to believe anyone here, other than a troll, would make such an insane remark.

(20,709 posts)Some people, on and off of DU, expressed disappointment that Sanders didn't address race issues in his campaign kick-off speech. That's what this is about. Nobody accused him of being racist.

(22,876 posts)but you would think there would be something a person could find to see what started the ball rolling..

(11,495 posts)I found no one that called Bernie a racist. As others have said it was just made up by one poster, and grew. Just more stirring things up to cause trouble if you ask me.

(110,159 posts)no one had declared sanders was a racist. but, that did not matter. took off after that.
two days of it now. now i have people saying, they never saw it, but has to be true, cause pro sanders people say it is.
wow....
seabeyond
(110,159 posts)racist. let along state, suggest or imply he is.
no one.
but... pro sanders wants nothing to do with facts. they like holding this one close and using it often, even if NO ONE said it.

He gets bonus points for keeping "Bernie Sanders" and "Racist" alive in yet another headline on DU.
That's why this keeps going 'round and 'round.

(110,159 posts)has to be true, cause another pro sander person said so.
this OP is far from the only one keeping it alive. it would help if the same ole, pro sander people would start calling it out too, instead of kickin the thread that started it all.
i will take note, you say nothing to those people that are actively feeding it to become a fact.

(11,495 posts)Someone started the shit and instead of doing anything about it, you are trying to blame me? Wow! Why don't post to the guy that started the shit and put the blame at his feet, or is he one of your buddies?

(961 posts)Along with this statement:
"It is due to all of the above that I have to say that when Sen. Bernie Sanders kicks off his presidential campaign with a suggestion that he is launching a "political revolution to transform our country," and yet makes zero mention of any of the issues that burden people of color in this country, my response is simply..."Not good enough, Bernie."
At most it was implied.
And note by search, I have said nothing in any of the threads about this. This is just an observation from reading the various threads on the topic.
I don't know the blogger who wrote the above, but it was irresponsible, and that's being kind. What it was would get me kicked off the board for having said. As you can see I support Hillary Clinton, but to expect Bernie Sanders to cover everything his campaign is to be about at the kickoff rather than generally hitting a few of the highlights is unrealistic.
Now, if 6 months from now he hasn't addressed these issues at all, that's different. But right off the bat hitting on everything he's about? Just not possible.
And that's true of any candidate.

(11,804 posts)People did assert that Bernies supporters at DU were insensitive to African American Concerns at best, though.

(110,159 posts)insignificant, dont matter, are minor, or..... the big one, will be addressed thru economic justice. you know, maybe some will trickle down to social injustices.
yes. that has been said. we have had lots of conversation about that.
i kinda feel this immense push insisting (you are the first pro sanders i am aware of that has actually full stop, said no to the racist accusations) that if we discuss social vs economic then we will be called out for calling sanders racist. as if, it is just another attempt to shut certain people up.
readily i admit, that has been a conversation about some of duers populist group that have flat out told us, our concerned are not the focus.
certainly far from all pro sanders.
